Bachelor's Degrees: BA, BEng and BSc (Hons) Explained

A three-year honours degree that covers Levels 4, 5 and 6 in one course. BA, BEng and BSc describe the subject area, and the result is the same level of qualification as a top-up or a degree apprenticeship.

What Is a Bachelor's Degree?

A bachelor's degree with honours is a Level 6 qualification, typically studied full-time over three years. Year one is Level 4, year two is Level 5 and year three is Level 6, so you cover the whole ladder in a single course.

BA stands for Bachelor of Arts, BEng for Bachelor of Engineering and BSc for Bachelor of Science. The letters tell you the subject area: your course page will say which one applies.
