It is a great fit for future engineers who are motivated, curious and ready to take on global challenges in energy, power generation, smart systems and more.
Tutors who have industry experience will teach you. They know exactly what employers are looking for, and they will help you develop the mindset and technical knowledge to stand out.
Balancing life, work and study is something we recognise, which is why the course is delivered flexibly, so that it fits around your commitments. A part time daytime study route is also on offer, in addition to our full time option.
What You’ll Learn
The qualification consists of mandatory core units, which have been chosen with care to build your core knowledge, skills and behaviours in electrical systems engineering.
Theoretical principles and real world applications are both part of your learning, so that you develop a broad and deep understanding of the sector.
Assessment
Our focus is on real world application, rather than just exams.
Coursework of different kinds is used to assess you, such as written assignments, practical tasks, project work, group activities and presentations. By design, this reflects industry practice, and it helps you build the confidence and problem solving skills that you will use in your career.
Progression
This course leads on to a range of exciting next steps. On the employment side, you can move into technician level roles in electrical and electronic engineering, control systems or maintenance.
You can carry on with us for one more year to complete your Higher National Diploma in Electronic and Electrical Systems Engineering for England. You can also use this qualification as a strong base for structured workplace training through Higher or Degree Apprenticeships. The course can also be delivered as part of a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship.
Once your HND is complete, you can progress onto a top up degree. One of the degrees you could pursue is:
The BEng carries accreditation from the IET on behalf of the Engineering Council. Graduates are able to apply for professional registration as a Chartered Engineer, which brings you greater recognition, credibility and career potential across the industry.
