Background
Goal
The course includes hospital placements where students learn on the job. Working with real people builds practical skills and confidence, along with the strong communication skills needed to understand and respond to other people's thoughts and feelings.
Journey
Ebony balances her studies with raising a four-year-old, running a home and holding down a job. Fitting coursework and placement hours around school runs, PE sessions, swimming lessons and football is a lot to manage, but she is making it work.
Outcome
Ebony is using the course to build up her UCAS points, as a stepping stone to where she ultimately wants to be. Health and Social Care at Levels 4 and 5 can lead into careers across health and social care, or on to further study such as nursing or social work.
