Level 3 Qualifications: A Levels, BTECs, T Levels and Access to HE

Level 3 is where most routes into higher education begin. A Levels, BTEC Nationals, T Levels and the Access to HE Diploma all sit here, and each one leads on to Level 4 courses at the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology.

What Is Level 3?

Level 3 is the level of qualification you study before higher education. It sits at the bottom of the GMIoT pathway, one step below Level 4 courses such as an HNC or CertHE. Common Level 3 qualifications include A Levels, BTEC Nationals, T Levels and the Access to HE Diploma.

Which one suits you depends on how you like to learn and where you want to end up. All four are recognised routes into higher-level study.

  • A Level 4 higher apprenticeship, if you want to earn while you learn
