What You'll Study
Overview
Gaining a broad set of skills suited to technical job roles, this DipHE course teaches you how to implement software solutions that enable businesses to develop new products and services and boost productivity through a range of digital technologies. You'll also gain a solid understanding of computing, data science, networking, security, and business systems and operations.
A Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) is a Level 5 qualification, equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree. You will learn in labs equipped with industry-standard technology, and the course has links with Manchester employers such as Car Finance 247, AJ Bell and Autotrader.

You will be assessed through practical assessments, written assignments, oral presentations and examinations.
Progression
Graduates can move into roles such as IT technician, software developer, business analyst, cyber security specialist, data analyst, solution architect and operations manager, or continue their studies with a top-up to a full honours degree.
Entry Requirements
- GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), plus one of the following
- UCAS tariff points: 72 points
- A Level: 72 points (DDD), including A Level Computer Science
- BTEC National Diploma: MMP in Computing or an IT-related subject
- Access to HE: 72 points in Access to HE Computing
- Scottish Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate: 72 points, including Computer Science
- If you do not meet the stated criteria, you may still be considered through Accreditation of Prior Learning or the Salford Alternative Entry Scheme (SAES)
Study Options
This course is available full time over two years, or part time, at the University of Salford. The course is also available as a one year Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE).
