This HTQ Level 5 course is built to give you a robust skill set and in depth knowledge across many different facets of computing. The first year covers a range of subjects relating to computer fundamentals, including programming, networking and website design. These give you the background knowledge needed to approach the more advanced subjects in year 2 and to complete the final research project.
Across the two year programme, you will gain a comprehensive and strategic understanding of information security within modern computing environments. The content covers the principles and practices of protecting sensitive information. There is an emphasis on developing robust security policies, risk management and putting security controls into practice.
Applied cryptography in the cloud gives you the knowledge and practical skills to secure data in cloud environments. This unit looks at cryptographic techniques tailored to the cloud, making sure that you can put robust encryption strategies into practice in the dynamic and distributed nature of cloud computing.
This Higher Technical Qualification is delivered as part of the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT), a regional partnership of leading colleges, universities and employers.
