GMIoT is the Greater Manchester hub in England’s Institutes of Technology programme: employer-led collaborations between colleges, universities and industry, each built to close a local technical skills gap. Ours delivers Level 4 and 5 Higher Technical Qualifications in Engineering, Computing, Construction, Creative Media and Health, designed with Greater Manchester’s employers so the curriculum matches the roles the region actually needs filled.
Working with the University of Salford and Greater Manchester’s colleges, our focus is closing the perception gap between HTQs and traditional degrees: a Level 4 or 5 qualification is a flexible route into skilled work, or a direct step toward a full degree, not a lesser alternative to one.
