Delivered at Bury College University Centre, this Higher Technical Qualification gives you the computing skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the fast moving digital industries. You will develop skills in software development, programming, cyber security, computer hardware and networking, relational database design, and games and website design.
You choose one of three specialist pathways: Cyber Security and Cloud Networking, Software Development and Programming, or Games and Animation. Along the way, you may also have the chance to gain additional professional IT qualifications, including Cisco and Unity.
The course suits you if you are progressing from a Level 3 qualification in Computing, ICT, Games or another digital subject, or if you already work in the industry and want to build your understanding of one of the pathways.
What You'll Learn
Topics include programming, networking and security, database design and development, innovation and digital transformation, cyber security, big data and artificial intelligence. On the Cyber Security and Cloud Networking pathway, you will learn how networks are built, how they are attacked and how to defend them.
Assessment
You will be assessed on a continuous basis through a mix of coursework portfolios, presentations, projects and practical activities.
